- Aspiring entrepreneurs who want to start businesses but don’t know yet in which industry to serve, or what services/products to offer.
Goal
To provide the fundamental knowledge of creating a business, to support the participants to explore different industries, to help them to come up with their most interesting business ideas, and to help them to pursue the ideas by following the lesson practically. By the end of the lesson, the learner should be having a well-articulated business plan of his/her chosen business idea. Not only that, the business plan must be bankable, meaning that it can get funding from banks or investors.
Course Description
Get to know all there is to know about starting and running a successful business from professional, entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs, and hit the ground running. This course guides you through the process of creating your own business. We will cover a progression of topics necessary for successful business creation including:
- Developing an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Identifying business opportunities.
- Market research to identify a niche that you can serve.
- Coming up with a business model that you will use to serve your market.
- Formulating a business strategy.
- Identifying everything that you will need in order to produce your product and take it to the market. From this you create a list of assets that you need and their costs.
- Identifying the management, skilled and unskilled labor, and the administrative personnel that you need in the business, and the estimated salaries or wages per month.
- Identifying the right location for your business.
- Identifying business expenses and estimating the expenditure per month, financial forecast.
- Writing up a bankable business plan using the above information. The business plan will include projected Profit and Loss Accounts and Cashflow statements for the first 3 years. It will show you what the cost of starting your business is. When you subtract the money you have on hand, you can tell how much you need to borrow.
- Basic business management.
- Formulating an action plan for implementation.
- Registration of the business.
- Tax registration.
Instead of describing what to do, we focus on guiding you through the process of actually doing it, from the initial research to launching. It may, or may not be, your dream business, but it will be a functional business giving you the execution capability to start something you are passionate about. You can always apply the knowledge to another business idea.
